People Behind The Tank: Jesse Esperanzate 

Q&A With Jesse Esperanzate (Lead Production Technician) – Winnipeg, Canada

Q: How would you describe your job?

A: My job as lead production technician is to train, delegate and support my team in the workshop.  

Q: What made you want to join Western Global? 

A: I joined Western Global back in 2017 after the company I previously worked for had closed down. All I knew going into my new job was the job description I was interviewed for, but about a week into being at Western, I immediately started to notice how professional and respectful Western’s management is towards it’s employees. To be part of a family-oriented company who treats their staff with integrity and respect is exactly what I was looking for in a career. 

Q: What is your favourite part of the job?

A: My favourite part of the job is the interactions, comradery, and the teamwork that we have among all functions of the Canadian facility! E.g. management, sales, finance, engineering, and workshop crew. I also love the freedom I have from management to speak on any concerns I may have. This freedom on speech gives me confidence to be able to give my best to the team.  

Q: Can you tell me more about your background?

A: I’ve been working in manufacturing for over 30 years. Being on the floor with hands-on work alongside a great team is where I’ve always been the most comfortable. From assembling windows to farm equipment, I’ve always been intrigued by anything that it mechanically driven. I also have a great passion for muscle cars.  

Q: When you are not working, what are you doing with your free time?

A: Outside of work, I love going to the gym at least 4 times a week to maintain my health and fitness. Most of my time is spent with my family. My family is what gives me the fuel to keep going. I’ve been with my wife for 34 years and we have a son and two daughters whom I love spending time with whenever possible.  

Q: If you were to recommend one thing to someone, what would it be?

A: A few things I always tell everyone is to live life to the fullest; Always find time to spend with your family and loved ones; Be respectful and kind to one another.
