Q&A With Jacob Parks, Technical Support Team Lead – NA (Based out of Troy, MI)

Hey Jacob! How would you describe your job?

As a Technical Support Team Lead, I support the Western Global team throughout North America in all technical aspects of the Western Global product line. I’m here to assist with everything from sales inquiries to resolving customer issues, handling warranty claims, and training our current and future Technical Support reps. I aim to ensure our customers are happy and help keep us at the forefront of the industry.

What made you want to join Western Global?

Well, back in 2019, a fellow employee reached out to me and shared their experiences at the company. Our chat really opened my eyes to the company’s amazing mission and values. I felt a genuine desire to join a team that’s dedicated to making a positive impact and bringing about meaningful change. It just felt like the right fit!

What is your favorite part of the job?

What I really love about my job is the awesome feeling I get when I help a customer with their issue and see them leave satisfied. Every day brings new challenges, which keep things exciting and allow me to grow my skills. I also can’t say enough about the fantastic work culture at Western Global! I’ve never been part of a team that’s so passionate, open, diverse, and rewarding. It truly makes coming to work a joy!

Can you tell us more about your background?

I’ve had the chance to explore a variety of jobs in my career, ranging from the food industry to health and fitness, sales, and manufacturing. However, I really found my niche here at Western Global! I joined the production team as a technician in 2019, and since then, I’ve been lucky enough to move up internally. I transitioned into shipping and receiving, where I got to lead the logistics team, and I’m excited to say that I stepped into my current role at the beginning of 2023. It’s been an amazing journey!

When you’re not working, how do you spend your free time?

In my free time, I love spending time with my family. My wife Alexandria and I have been together for 16 wonderful years, and we have a 10-year-old son, who is my best friend. We have another boy on the way; we will be welcoming him in January 2025.

If you had one recommendation to someone, what would it be?

One thing I always recommend to everyone is to consistently work on yourself and strive to get better everyday, I love going to the gym to stay heathy and I always make sure to read everyday to keep the mind sharp and strong.
