Powering a tented town: Rapid deployment for the military

Our customer has been supplying tented camps, barracks and forward operating bases to the military for 20-years. During an unexpected cold snap in North Carolina, they received an urgent request for auxiliary fuel during a rapid deployment of sleeping quarters for 7,000 troops.

Relying on external suppliers would mean refilling generators every 20-hours – and risk power outages. We were ready with tanks for immediate deployment to site – saving hundreds of man hours, extra handling and environmental risk. We made 40 WX Mobile 500 tanks, plus twenty larger WX Mobile 1000 models within 24-hours. As they left us fully fitted, we avoided extra journeys from having to prepare them en route. Once on-site, these transportable, stackable and secure tanks hugely extended run times compared to constant, inefficient, last-minute refueling using trucks.

Taking charge of an autonomous energy supply delivered environmental and health and safety gains, too. With so many logistical challenges like providing water and sanitary amenities to an army on the move, we helped our customer keep the generators running at this huge, tented base – with a solution that was robust and ready.
