Contaminant free jet propellent: A modular military solution
Location
Poland
Demand
Bulk storage of JP8
Solution
ISO container tanks
Response
High spec, bolt-together bulk storage
Flexible jet fuel storage, re-deployable and ready
The US Army rotates a huge number of forces personnel in Eastern Europe, using facilities hosted by home nations. Without creating permanent infrastructure, they needed bulk storage of JP8 – around 50k gallons per base in Poland. JP8 is a jet propellant widely specified by the US military. It’s similar to A1 commercial fuel but with anti-icing and corrosion inhibitors.
It’s hard to obtain commercially, so having a reliable, environmentally secure source is essential to operations. Powering ultra-sensitive engines means paying clinical attention to potential contaminants. We were tasked with supplying a clean, modular solution fit for redeployment anywhere in the world, and a solution to their lack of off-loading pumps.
PROJECT SOLUTION
ISO container storage and premium pumps
We delivered three high-specification 40 foot ISO container tanks – with total epoxy lining. This ensured unadulterated jet propellant, free from water and microbiological contaminants. They were supplied fast with bolt-together linking kits, avoiding on-site welding. Each tank is double-walled and doesn’t require a berm or ground preparation.
A set of fast, efficient pumps was designed on fork-liftable skid frames – creating a bulk loader capable of downloading a commercial tanker in 30-minutes. The project needed versatile retail dispensing, too – as every site layout could be different. Our JP8 solution delivers compliance, surety of supply and forward flexibility to the US Army.
