When super typhoon Yuta hit the remote island of Saipan, gusts of almost 200mph ripped through homes and infrastructure, causing nearly $1 billion of damage. It was the most powerful tropical cyclone of the year, worldwide. The US Federal Emergency Management Agency needed a flexible fuel solution on the ground, urgently.
With road and communication links severed, FEMA’s Disaster Recovery Center needed a fast way to get fuel into plant and generators amid catastrophic damage: the right fuels, in the right places at the right time. As a public health emergency was declared, we got the call to ask if we were ready to respond.

When the order arrived on a Saturday afternoon, our team responded with an immediate, ready-made solution. Our TransCube Global tanks are fully transportable, crucially even when full of fuel. And they’re proven in environments from construction to combat. We worked through the weekend to ensure 30 tanks were prepared and airlifted to this devastated island community in the western Pacific Ocean, within two days.
Each Transcube is designed to provide a consistent source of auxiliary fuel to up to three different pieces of equipment simultaneously, without wait times. They’re ideal where access is limited, and robust enough to be craned or forklifted into position quickly. They’re brilliantly simple and don’t require the level of training needed to use alternatives like wheel to wheel fueling. However chaotic the situation on the ground, we have the engineering and experience that’s ready and set to go.
