Storing diesel exhaust fluid on-site requires reliable containment that can withstand tough conditions and avoid contamination. You also need to ensure that your Tier 4 equipment never runs dry. Our innovative DEFCube tanks give you full control over your fluid. Refuel equipment as and when you need it and experience complete peace of mind with our DEF tanks.

The DEFCube range

The DEFCube Global range

We’ve listened to feedback from customers in industries like construction and have manufactured next-generation tanks that store diesel exhaust fluid securely onsite. The products in our DEF range meet all your requirements, no matter how demanding, and are tough enough to withstand regular transport around, to and from site.

Like our flagship TransCube Global, each tank has a stackable design, making it a real space saver for smaller working environments. The inner tank keeps its contents safe and secure, meaning your diesel exhaust fluid has the same level of protection as your fuel stock.

Market-leading tanks for all circumstances

While diesel exhaust fluid isn’t toxic, you should still take extra care when storing and using it to prevent contamination and spills/leaks, as stated by ISO 22241 – the standard for storing DEF.

Our range adheres to this standard, so you can trust Western Global for your refueling needs. We provide dedicated tanks with a rugged carbon steel outer shell, with separate nozzles and pumps that are easy to clean and maintain. Our guide looks at DEF storage in more detail, including why diesel exhaust fluid matters and how our tanks take the stress out of its maintenance.

With rugged features, the DEFCube is suitable for a wide variety of projects, no matter the jobsite or project scope.

Introducing our DEF Storage Containers

FAQs

What is a DEF tank?

A DEF tank stores your diesel exhaust fluid in bulk in a safe and secure way. Due to its corrosive nature, DEF must be stored in high-density polyethylene, polypropylene or stainless steel containers. The right tank will be equipped with features that help preserve the quality of your fluid, such as secondary containment and lockable cabinets for pumps and equipment.

Does DEF fluid freeze?

DEF can freeze if temperatures reach 12°F or lower. The right storage is designed to help keep your fluid from freezing, however. An additional heater kit can be added to our DEF130 model to aid temperature control and prevent issues caused by weather exposure. This rapidly cuts down on time waiting for DEF to melt or spending money on additives which are unlikely to work.

How long does diesel exhaust fluid last?

Diesel exhaust fluid has a shelf life of two years, as long as it’s stored in optimal conditions. This means keeping your fluid out of direct sunlight, free of contaminants and preventing bacteria build up within the tank itself. If your DEF changes color or appears cloudy, then it’s likely expired.

Refuel in all seasons

Our DEFCube range features versatile and durable tanks that keep your diesel exhaust fluid safe and secure, no matter the job site or climate. Our DEF130 has an optional heater kit, designed to keep you running in extreme cold.
