Fuel Tank Manufacturer offers portable fuel station

Western Global's fuel tank turned into a portable fuel station

Winnipeg, Canada – October 19, 2017 – In the increasingly competitive world of fuel distribution, companies must use new strategies and technology to grow their customer base and reduce overhead costs. The problem is that executing new tactics or installing new equipment can be difficult. Western Global saw an opportunity to help fuel tank jobbers sell more fuel and address these pain points with a turnkey, portable fuel station solution – the Fuel Island.

The Fuel Island is a self-contained, moveable fuel station with remote monitoring technology. It pairs Western Global’s trusted TransTank fuel tanks with all the necessary components and equipment to create a turnkey portable fuel station solution that can be deployed immediately. Ideal for fleet refueling and long-term, bulk stationary applications, the Fuel Island enables fuel jobbers to better serve existing customers and win additional contracts. With its integrated, cloud-based remote monitoring equipment fuel consumption can be accurately tracked, saving time and resources for the distributor and the end-user.

Installing a Fuel Island is also simple. “Site set up and installation time is greatly reduced compared to a conventional site-built solution, as the Fuel Islands are largely ‘ready to use’ when they arrive at the customer’s location,” says Bob Lennox, Western Global’s North American Fuel Solutions Group Lead. “Our team works with the specific local authorities for the clients site to ensure full compliance prior to setup,” he added. The Fuel Islands fuel tank packages can be configured with either an ‘in cabinet solution’ or an ‘outside of cabinet solution’ meaning that there is a fully compliant design for just about every jurisdiction and fuel type.

There are three Fuel Island equipment packages that customers can choose from; these options were designed to fit any client’s application and budget. Every package includes the fuel tank (available in three sizes) on skid, dispensing equipment, fuel inventory monitoring system, cardlock equipment, electrical panel, and all necessary plumbing and wiring. Western Global’s highly skilled operations team pre-assembles and installs all these components so every Fuel Island is delivered to customers ready-to-use.

At the heart of every Fuel Island is the fuel tank itself; the TransTank P-Series is Western Global’s line of stationary bulk storage fuel containers. These tanks are double-walled for environmental safety and feature a lockable equipment cabinet with spill containment for added security. Available in capacities ranging from 3,124 gallons (11,828 liters) to 17,731 gallons (67,119 liters), the TransTank P-Series tanks are designed with an access manway on top of the tank and a built-in ladder. These features make routine maintenance and inspection easy.

Like all Western Global fuel tank products, the Fuel Island Portable Fuel Station is designed to improve efficiencies. Fuel jobbers can sell more fuel, better track consumption, and reduce downtime by utilizing a Fuel Island in their operations. Contact Bob Lennox ([email protected]) to learn more.

Statutory Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) Inspections

In addition to your own routine maintenance and inspection, there are statutory examinations and certifications required for your fuel tanks to remain in compliance with legislation. The interval and schedule of these examinations are determined by local regulations, the ownership of the tank, the premises where it is located, the total volume of diesel or…
