The Role:

You will have responsibility for the day to day management of direct and indirect vendors suppling into the UK operation. You will be responsible for developing and expediting supply plans at vendor level to ensure the smooth running of production and the on time fulfilment of customer orders. You will be conversant with standard ERP planning methodology (e.g. min/max planning, EOQ, ATP, Purchase Order, Sales Order structures, item and vendor master data) and have a solid understanding of vendor management. Critical to success will be your ability to build highly effective relationships with vendors but also your ability to develop trust amongst your key stakeholders. As an important member of the UK Operations team you will be expected to contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of operational processes and practices.


Key Responsibilities of this Position:

  • Work with the Assembly & Distribution Centre in Poland for availability of stock.
  • Assist with supply planning for forecast accounts – customers with repeating requirements
  • Assist with supply planning on bespoke orders
  • Handles indirect purchasing accounts (consumables, tools, sundries)
  • Manage the order item report for stock items at min levels – place orders
  • Chase order acknowledgements, late orders, and update delivery dates.
  • Update material due dates
  • Assist the Production Planner with lead times to maximise capacity utilisation in assembly.
  • Assist the Stores Team with stock related issues
  • Assist the Assembly team as and when necessary


Required Skills & Attributes:

  • 3-5 years in a similar vendor management, procurement or inventory / material planning role.
  • Ideally with a background in Net Suite, but certainly proficient in ERP system usage
  • Ideally from a manufacturing or assembly background
  • Excellent communicator
  • Excellent inter personal skills and able to build good working relationships
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Good business acumen.
  • A flexible approach, with a desire to learn and develop.
