About The Role:

You will have responsibility and accountability for all operational activity in North America, covering Planning, Sourcing, Assembly, and Freight across multiple sites. You will lead the US Operations organisation with transparency, authenticity and integrity with a relentless focus on  customer value. You will be passionate about developing people and understand that performance is delivered through a great team. A capable communicator, you will build mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders across the organization and through your management style, you will engender trust and a sense of can do/will do in North American Operations.   

You will need to understand the operation in detail and be expected to be literate in both process level detail where appropriate, but equally comfortable designing and cascading strategic improvement across the organization. You will be intellectually curious with a strong desire to deeply understand coupled with the energy to drive the improvement agenda. You will know what a well run operation looks like and know how to balance cost, delivery and quality to ensure customer and stakeholder value targets are achieved.

The business is growing fast so you will need to make decisions, often very quickly. You will be comfortable working with ambiguity and have the confidence and conviction to support your decisions.  

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Operational leadership of the North America Operations (NA Ops) team.
  • Development and maintenance of the strategic roadmap for NA Ops.
  • Ensure operational readiness at all times.
  • Develop  excellent relationships with Sales, Product Mgmt.,  Engineering, Finance and HR
  • Accountability for Operational Key Performance Indicators
  • Accountability for Health and Safety in  NA Ops.
  • Management of the cost base of  NA Ops in accordance with budget
  • Drive programmes to improve quality, cost, delivery and capability
  • Bring to life the company values within the operations’ culture
  • Engage, develop and challenge team members
  • Manage talent and succession
  • Play an active role in Global Operational Standards development and deployment across Group.

 

You Will Have:

  • Demonstrable achievement in a senior leadership role within a manufacturing/assembly environment.
  • Ideally multi-site leadership experience.
  • Values based leadership approach
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of operational cost management.
  • Good understanding of operational excellence methodologies (e.g. lean, six sigma, SCOR).
  • Passionate and driven by performance delivery
  • Ability to work in fast-paced evolving environment
  • Willingness to make decisions
  • Ability to build beneficial relationships with stakeholders.
