About The Role:

As an integral part of the Central Planning Team you will have multi-site responsibility for all customer freight planning and execution. Working throughout the value chain you will support Inside Sales with all freight based enquiries at quote stage, right through to the scheduling of customer deliveries based on completed orders from our Production facilities. This will include the management of inter-company orders between US Sites and US to Canada.  You will also manage all freight responsibilities for goods and products being returned from customers (RMAs) and movements between the primary production facilities and off-site storage as and when required.

You will manage all freight/courier claims in a timely manner and  wherever possible support the implementation of processes to mitigate the risk of claims. All ad hoc request that have a need for freight also fall within the remit of this role.

Excellent relationships with your stakeholders and freight providers will be essential to success. Through the maintenance of up to date freight cost data, you will an important part of the freight spend recovery process.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Develop and execute customer specific delivery plans
  • Support Inside Sales with freight quote information
  • Minimise freight spend through appropriate route planning and vehicle load utilization
  • Support the effective recovery of freight spend.
  • Freight claims management and mitigation.
  • Build excellent working relationships across the planning and production teams and with your stakeholders and freight providers.
  • Willingness to take on any others tasks as requested by line management.

You Will Have:

  • Ideally 3-5 years in a similar freight planning role
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of road freight and freight pricing methods.
  • Ideally with a background in Net Suite, but certainly proficient in ERP systems
  • Excellent communicator
  • Excellent inter personal skills and able to build good working relationships
  • Leadership experience
  • Good business acumen.
  • A flexible approach, with a desire to learn and develop.
  • Sensible and pragmatic
