About The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Facilities & Health & Safety Coordinator. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will have responsibility for the development and delivery of the health and safety program in our North American locations while maintaining the facility management of these sites. This role will involve working closely with the Global Compliance Manager to ensure health and safety compliance across the North American sites.

What will you be doing as our Facilities & Health & Safety Coordinator?

Health and Safety:

  • Develop, influence, manage and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Review current systems to ensure our teams are equipped to work safely while being fully compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure safety records are updated and managed promptly using various processes and systems.
  • Investigate employee complaints and suggestions regarding hazardous conditions.
  • Keep up to date and ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation.
  • Take ownership of site H&S communication processes such as bulletin boards.
  • Act as a point of contact for staff and management at a site level.
  • Support H&S meetings including H&S committee meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Work closely with the Operations team to understand site issues and risks and provide recommendations to improve.
  • Report regularly to the Global Compliance Manager on health and safety for the North American sites.
  • Manage Safe Work Procedures, SDS sheets, risk assessments, and accident investigations.
  • Ensure required training is carried out, documented, and advise of any additional training identified.
  • Complete site audits and facility inspections.

Facilities Management:

  • Manage contractor visits to the site and ensure they are informed of site safety rules.
  • Prepare repair and maintenance plans and arrange for necessary routine works to be scheduled and safely carried out.
  • Perform facility inspection checks on the sites and close out any corrective actions that are found.
  • Manage the service contracts of the sites and be a point of contact for site suppliers (eg. Electricity supplier).
  • Assist in setting up facilities in future locations

What we are looking for in our ideal Shipping & Receiving Clerk:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Health and Safety Law.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • High level of self-motivation, independence, and self-reliance.
  • Able to use your initiative in solving problems.
  • Good attention to detail, producing accurate information.
  • Comfortable working with different levels of colleagues from manual, hands-on, workers to senior management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build good working relationships.
  • The ability to lead and manage projects.
