CHALLENGE

The customer sells complete power solutions, typically ranging from 4 – 12 MW. The power plants are offered as complete turnkey solutions, including generators, transformers, switch-gear, control rooms and diesel fuel tanks. Deploying this type of machinery into the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) proved to be expensive, time consuming and challenging with little to no infrastructure at all. The customer was in search of a modular fuel solution that would be easy to deploy and install.

SOLUTION

The TransTank P Series containerized tanks proved to be the best storage units for the application. With their bulk capacity and ISO container design, the tanks are suitable for safe and efficient refueling of generators. Western Global configured the tanks with booster style pumps to refuel 2 – 6 MW generators. The systems also include pressure switches, time out functionality, level alarms, inline filtration and full back-up in terms of design.

RESULTS

By utilizing the TransTank alongside their generators, the customer were able to offer a fully containerized power plant that’s easy to deploy and install. The unit’s modular design perfectly aligned with the layout and design of their turnkey solutions. The customer has expressed their positive experience, stating “We have had good service from your team and are confident in your offering. We believe in building long term relationships with our suppliers and service providers and having your positive commitment in keeping our offering competitive definitely helps in maintaining this relationship.”
