Facing the elements

Offshore wind turbines operate in high humidity and are battered by salt water, which makes building and inspecting them tough and expensive. We were challenged to provide a compliant fuel storage solution during the installation of 97 towers in the North Sea: one that would interface with an electronic management system to provide reliable readings after prolonged exposure to the elements.

The conditions are tough, and so are international off-shore regulations. With a tight timescale, we were prepared with the perfect storage solution.

Our TransCube Offshore storage tanks have remote monitoring capability and are specifically engineered for the world’s most inhospitable environments. They meet oil and gas standards including EN12079 and UN IBC, yet are cost-effective and quick to deploy.

We were able to hit short deadlines and align with strict vessel sailing times, to deliver on time and on budget. Our C2020-A reporting module interfaced seamlessly with the customer’s management system to provide reliable readings throughout the subsea and above-surface build. Today the wind farm generates sustainable, emission-free power to 600,000 households – another step toward our shared sustainability goals.
